Custom Roman Shades in Fort Collins, CO

Soft, Tailored Window Style With Guided Help From Our Local Team

Roman shades completely change how a room feels, adding soft fabric texture and clean lines while delivering the privacy and light control you need. However, sorting through endless online swatches can make it hard to picture the final result. At Bumble Bee Blinds of Northern Colorado, we design and install Roman shades for homes and businesses, taking the guesswork out of the process. We bring the showroom to you. Our team provides curated fabrics, expert design advice, and precise measuring. With free in-home consultations, professional installation, and trusted warranty coverage, we make upgrading your windows simple and stress-free.

Custom Roman Shades Designed Around Your Rooms

Your window treatments should reflect the personality of your home. Roman shades are the perfect choice when you want a softer look than blinds but a more streamlined profile than heavy drapes. We help you customize every detail:

  • Fabric & Texture: From crisp solids for a modern look to rich weaves for warmth.
  • Light Control: Choose sheer fabrics for airy sitting rooms or blackout linings for bedrooms.
  • Functionality: We assess privacy needs, screen glare, and insulation to recommend the perfect setup. Because your Roman shades are custom-made for each opening, you get an exact fit that highlights your architectural details without overwhelming the space.

Our Simple Process: From Consultation to Installation

We believe you should know exactly what to expect. Our full-service approach keeps everything clear and convenient.

1. Free In-Home Consultation

We meet you at your home or business to discuss your goals. We bring samples to hold up against your windows, allowing you to see how fabrics interact with your specific lighting and decor. We also take precise measurements of every window, accounting for frame depth and trim details.

2. Design & Visualization

Using our visualizer tool, we can show you how different styles (like Flat vs. Hobbled folds) will look in your actual rooms. This comparison makes decision-making easy. Once you choose your favorites, we place the custom order and provide a clear timeline.

3. Professional Installation

When your shades arrive, our installers return to mount them securely. We ensure every fold hangs evenly and the system operates smoothly. Before leaving, we demonstrate how to use and care for your new shades.

Roman Shade Styles & Options

Understanding the construction style is key to achieving your desired look. We guide you through the most popular options:

  • Flat Roman Shades: Smooth and clean when lowered; stacks neatly when raised. Ideal for modern or transitional spaces.
  • Relaxed Roman Shades: Features a gentle “smile” curve at the bottom for a casual, soft feel.
  • Hobbled (Looped) Shades: Cascading folds remain visible even when lowered, adding depth and texture to large windows.
  • Lift Systems: Choose from standard cords, cordless options for child safety, or motorized systems for ultimate convenience.

Tailored for Fort Collins Living

Fort Collins homes range from historic properties with intricate trim to modern new builds with expansive glass. Our local team understands how to adapt Roman shades to these varied styles. We also account for the local climate. South and west-facing windows can bring in intense sunlight that fades floors and heats up rooms. We recommend specific linings to soften that light while keeping your home comfortable. Whether you need privacy for a street-facing room or want to frame a mountain view, we design solutions that fit your lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do custom Roman shades cost?

Pricing depends on window size, fabric choice, and lift system (e.g., motorized vs. manual). During your free consultation, we provide clear estimates based on your specific selections and budget.

Do I need to measure my windows myself?

No. Precision measuring is part of our service. We use professional tools to account for every detail, ensuring a perfect custom fit.

Can you match shades to my existing decor?

Absolutely. We look at your furniture, paint, and flooring to recommend fabrics that complement your current style, creating a cohesive look throughout your home.

Are Roman shades easy to clean?

Yes. Regular dusting or vacuuming with an upholstery attachment is usually enough. We also guide you on specific care instructions for the fabrics you choose.

Kari is the best! We had Bumble Bee Blinds out to install a large motorized screen on our back porch to give us a break from the sun. They walked me through the product and how it works and worked out a few issues that made the installation a little complicated. Super nice people and great company here in Windsor!

Our decorator recommended Bumble Bee Blinds for our bedroom, and they were so fast the blinds arrived and are installed before most of the furniture has even arrived. Good selection of products and finishes, the sales rep and installer were both super nice and came to the house accommodating our schedules, and the finished install looks great, even in a tricky bay window condition. Would highly recommend!

Kari and her team are dedicated to their trade, whether indoor blinds, shades and motorized blinds, to drapes curtains and the custom hardware, to their extendable motorized and sensor awnings. We used them to install a retractable awning for our clients here in Fort Collins and they knocked it out. Client’s are happy with the quality, the fact that if they forget to close it the sensor closes it automatically if it gets to windy, and that they can have shade on demand on the deck with the press of a button. Would definitely recommend them out to our clients especially for exterior projects, but also for interior.

I cannot say enough good things about Bumble Bee Blinds! From start to finish, the entire experience was amazing. Olivia came out for the estimate and helped me pick the perfect shades to match my walls and overall style of our home. She was knowledgeable, patient, and truly cared about making sure everything looked just right.

Kari, the owner, was absolutely wonderful to work with and made sure I was taken care of throughout the entire process. You can really tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they do.

Then on install day, Olivia even asked for a picture beforehand to double check that what I selected was exactly what I wanted. That level of customer service and attention to detail is rare these days!

The blinds turned out perfect, and I am so happy we chose Bumble Bee Blinds for our home. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for beautiful window coverings and an exceptional customer experience!
