About Us

The Bumble Bee Blinds Advantage

Four Reasons to Choose Our Industry-Leading Team

What Are Motorized Shades?

Motorized shades are window coverings equipped with built-in motors that allow your shades to raise, lower, or tilt automatically. They can be controlled via remote, smartphone app, voice assistant, or programmed to follow a daily schedule. Whether you’re lounging on the sofa, working in your home office, or away on vacation, you can effortlessly manage your shades.

Why Homeowners in Fairfield County Choose Motorized Shades

Ultimate Convenience

Adjusting multiple large or hard-to-reach windows is as simple as pressing a button. No climbing stools, no pulling cords, no fuss.
Cleaner, Safer Design

With no dangling cords or manual chains, motorized shades offer a tidy look and reduce risks for children and pets.
Smarter Energy Use

You can program your shades to close during midday sun or open in the morning to warm a room — helping reduce glare, UV damage, and heating/cooling costs.
Enhanced Home Value & Modern Appeal

Automated window treatments signal modern living and functionality, making your home more attractive and comfortable.
Seamless Smart Home Integration

Connect your motorized shades to Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or other smart hubs to voice-command: “Close living room shades” or schedule “Movie Night mode.”

Ideal for Every Room & Every Window

From floor-to-ceiling glass in your great room to custom arched windows in a loft, motorized shades adapt to nearly any style or situation:

Living Room / Great Room: Manage light on west-facing windows as the sun dips below the ridge.
Bedrooms: Create the perfect dark-out environment with one command for restful sleep.
Home Office: Reduce screen glare quickly so you stay productive without adjusting blinds manually.
Sunrooms or Large Picture Windows: Control large expanses of glass smartly and safely.
Vacation Homes or Rental Properties: Use timer schedules to give an “occupied” look when you’re away.

Custom Design + Professional Installation

At Bumble Bee Blinds – Fairfield County, CT, we guide you through every step:

In-Home Design Consultation: We’ll show fabrics, styles and power options – battery, plug-in or hard-wired.
Precise Measurement & Manufacture: Each shade is custom-built for your window dimensions and motorization requirements.
Installation & Setup: Our certified installers fit your shades and program them to your preferences: remote zones, app control, voice commands.
Training & Support: We’ll show you how to use your system, set schedules, integrate with your smart hub — and we’re available for future service needs.

Choose Your Power & Control Style

Battery-Powered: Ideal for retrofit homes — minimal wiring needed, often long battery life.
Hard-Wired: Best for new construction or where power is easily accessed.
Plug-In / Solar Options: For flexibility and lower maintenance.
Remote, Wall-Switch, App or Voice Control: Pick the interface that fits your lifestyle.
Group Control & Scenes: Create zones (e.g., “downstairs,” “bedrooms”) or scenes like “Morning,” “Movie Time,” “Away” to automatically adjust multiple shades together.

Experience the Smart Shade Difference

Imagine this: you’re enjoying a quiet Sunday morning with coffee in hand. Without leaving your seat, you lower the living room shades to reduce glare on your laptop, while the bedroom shades open to welcome the morning light. Later, you set the system to close all first-floor shades and turn on a “security” mode while you head out. That’s the effortless, elevated lifestyle motorized shades bring.

After purchasing our home in Darien, I started to research companies for blinds and it was instantly apparent that Bumble Bee were a complete stand out from the rest… they were professional, thorough, kind and high quality. I could not recommend them enough from consultation to installation and even beyond to post installation support. I recommend to all my friends and will continue to do so. Thank you!

I am SO happy that I stumbled across Bumble Bee Blinds. We’ve spent the past two years looking for a company that does completely blackout shades + cute curtains for our autistic son’s room. He isn’t the best sleeper and if light creeps into his room he’s up for the day at 4 😵‍💫 Betsy was so incredibly helpful, kind, and understanding in helping us get exactly what we needed. The shades are beautiful and completely blackout and we are in LOVE with his decorative shade! Thank you Bumble Bee Blinds!

I LOVED working with BBBlinds. Betsy is amazingly patient- and listens. Her showroom has sooooo many quality options. I knew what I wanted (kind of) but wasn’t able to really articulate it well. She really listened and used her expertise to work with me to put together a dining room that had been unfinished for four years before we worked together. The people that work with her (installation -Gus for instance) are expert. The professionalism every step is beyond five stars. Highly recommend!!!!!
